Crackling Orange Ginger Cookies
These are my Aunt Carols cookies that everyone in our family can’t get enough of. They bring back so many memories growing up.

Crackling Orange Ginger Cookies

These ooey gooey orange ginger cookies don’t last long. Whenever I make them, they’re gone within hours.
Ingredients
Ingredients-
- 2 Sticks Salted Butter (Room Temperature)
- 1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg (Room Temperature)
- 2 1/2 Cups Flour
- 2 Teaspoon baking soda
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger Powder
- 1 Tablespoon of Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Cup of Molasses
- 1 Cup of Sugar for swirling cookies
- Zest of two oranges
Directions
- Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.
- In your mixer add room temperature butter and brown sugar and turn on low. Mix in your egg.
- In a separate bowl add flour, baking soda, ginger powder, salt and cinnamon. Sift together all ingredients. Then slowly add to mixer.
- Add Molasses last to cookie mixture
- In a third bowl add the cup of sugar for swirling and zest of orange
- Start rolling your batter into a small golf ball size ball and swirling into sugar mixture coating each ball with sugar and zest of orange.
- Place them on the cookie sheet 2 inches apart and place in oven.
- Cook for 8mins and pull out immediately. You want them super soft. Let stand for 10mins and enjoy!
